Success vs. Significance
If you've ever felt too young or too old, too big or too small, ill-equipped or too tired; if you've ever felt called completely out of your comfort zone and stepped out in faith only to find yourself standing alone - well, Christy has a story to share with you!
From big hair and big dreams that began in TV news in the 1980s and a journey through America's heartland that eventually led to the South Carolina governor’s office and even the US Embassy in Ottawa, Canada, Christy spent decades chasing success. But through God's grace what she discovered instead was a place called "Significance."
“I first heard my good friend Christy Cox address the downtown Trinity Focus Group led by Dawndy Mercer Plank a number of years ago. I thought I knew everything about her but her talk left me laughing, then crying, then praising God for His sense of humor and unimaginable big plans for our lives,” – Lere Robinson, nutritional counselor and coach, founder and owner of Alive Again, LLC.
"My students were both interested in and encouraged by what Christy had to share. And I found her stories of great encouragement to me personally, too”— Amy DuBois, Professor of Business Administration, Columbia International University.
Christy Cox has almost three decades experience in the communications field. A former award-winning television reporter and talk show host, Christy serves as Senior Advisor to former Ambassador to Canada, David Wilkins. Christy and her daughter, Reagan, own Body Chek Sports Essentials, LLC and Christy coaches softball as much as possible.
Christy served at the US Embassy Ottawa in Canada from 2005-2009. She is a former communications director at the SC House of Representatives and was a deputy chief speechwriter for former Governor David Beasley. Prior to her career in politics, she served as a spokesperson for the state Highway Patrol.
